As the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated social distancing regulations continue across Australia, Youth Living Skills has started to offer “online or telephone therapy and supports to our clients.
How do online / telephone sessions work?
You will discuss with your therapist or support worker which delivery mode would be most appropriate for the goals of the session and your personal preference or comfort level. For example, a psychology session discussing your feelings and goals may be suitable for a telephone session, while an OT session involving the OT showing the client specific gross motor skills exercises would be better suited to videoconferencing. You and your therapist would then agree on a date and time for the first session where you are both available.
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Support Worker
For telephone sessions, your therapist or support worker will contact you via telephone and you will proceed with the session. For online sessions requiring video, your therapist will contact you by sending an invite to join a Zoom meeting. Zoom is a popular and secure videoconferencing tool that can be used in a web browser, desktop, Android or iOS device.
